The Town Council has recently contacted Mark Francois MP for Rayleigh and Wickford to try and improve the accessibility at the railway station.
He has provided a response from Greater Anglia:
Greater Anglia has an aspiration for better accessibility and a specific bid for ‘Access for All’ was recently submitted to provide funding for Wickford in the recent round of submissions covering the period up to 2029.
Unfortunately, this was not successful and we will keep looking for financial support for the scheme. Working with stakeholders to try and secure funding for such an accessibility upgrade.
The next round of Access for All funding is not until 2028.
