Wickford Memorial Parkrun

What is Wickford Memorial parkrun?
Wickford Memorial parkrun was established in February 2020 and has grown from strength to strength. We currently have around 150 people who take part each week.

It is a free, fun, and friendly weekly 5k community event. You don’t have to run round, lots of people walk or jog and enjoy being part of this friendly community event. No one is ever last as we have volunteer tail walkers who walk behind all participants.

When is it?
Every Saturday at 9:00am (with extra events on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day which attract a lot of people).

Where is it?
The event takes place at Wickford Memorial Park, Rettendon View, Wickford, SS11 8JE.

What does it cost to join in?
Nothing – it’s free! but please register before you first come along. Only ever register with parkrun once and don’t forget to bring a scannable copy of your barcode (request a reminder). If you forget it, you won’t get a time.

We all take part for our own enjoyment. Please come along and join in whatever your pace!

Wickford Memorial parkrun needs you!
It is entirely organised by volunteers – email wickfordmemorial@parkrun.com to help. We have a fabulous volunteer base and are always happy to welcome more volunteers to join us. We’re friendly! Every week we grab a post parkrun coffee in Huttons cafe in the park. All are welcome to come along and we are happy to chat.

Wickford at Christmas
Christmas Fayre

We are a small group of people who organise the Christmas Fayre in Wickford.
We spend all year planning, organising and running the Christmas Fayre in November but the day it is only possible with the help of volunteers.
It is entirely organised by volunteers and we rely on having volunteers on the day to make it run smoothly.
Volunteers are needed to collect donations, help with setting up and clearing away, even if you can only give a few hours before, during or even after the event we can guarantee a good time. Refreshments are included.
Our email is wickfordatchristmas@gmail.com or join our wickfordatchristmas volunteers Facebook page.
Dawn Hutson is your contact. We are planning to have a get to know each other virtual meeting and would love you to come and meet us.
