Following the Town Council meeting held on 23 March, Members agreed in principle to proceed with negotiations with Basildon Borough Council regarding the potential occupation of the former Wickford Police Station in London Road.
The cost of the proposed works, £350,000 is being funded by Basildon Borough Council.
As previously stated, the Town Council is exploring plans to bring the building back into active use to serve the whole community. The vision is to create a Civic Centre that supports local services, community activity, and provides commercial opportunities to help ensure the long-term sustainability of the site.
