🍰 Senior Citizens Afternoon Tea
Our Senior Citizens Afternoon Tea was another fantastic community event, bringing residents together for an enjoyable afternoon of refreshments, entertainment and friendship. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the event such a success.
🏗️ Town Council & Town Centre Updates
• Continued work with Essex County Council, Basildon Borough Council and local bus operators on improving access and traffic management in Wickford High Street.
• Positive progress is being made towards the Town Council’s vision of bringing the High Street Market back on Saturdays, with discussions continuing with bus operators and Essex County Council.
• Exciting ideas are being explored for The Square, including additional seating, planting, public art and new community spaces to make it an even more vibrant destination.
• The Town Council’s Annual Governance & Accountability Return (AGAR) has been approved following a successful internal audit, demonstrating the Town Council’s commitment to good governance and sound financial management.
🚦 Community Speedwatch – Volunteers Needed
We’re looking for volunteers to join our Community Speedwatch team and help improve road safety across Wickford. If you’d like to get involved, please contact the Town Council Office.

🤝 Wickford Town Council continues to work with residents and partner organisations to enhance our town, support community initiatives and deliver services that benefit everyone. Many projects require collaboration with external organisations and can take time to progress, but we remain committed to achieving positive outcomes for Wickford.
