🎶 Music in the Park – Elton John Tribute
Our Elton John Tribute at Wickford Memorial Park was a fantastic evening of live music, with a great atmosphere enjoyed by residents and visitors. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event.
🛍️Independent Traders Market – A Great Success
The Independent Traders Market on Saturday 4 July was well attended and created a fantastic atmosphere in Wickford High Street. Thank you to everyone who came along to support our local traders.
🤝 Meet Your Town Councillors
It was great to meet so many residents at our Meet Your Town Councillors event on Saturday 4 July. Thank you to everyone who stopped by to share your views, ideas and feedback.
🎉 Summer Fun in the Park
Our Summer Fun in the Park programme got off to a brilliant start, with families enjoying free entertainment, activities and face painting at Wickford Memorial Park. We look forward to welcoming everyone back each Wednesday throughout the summer holidays.
🏗️ Planning & Infrastructure Update
• 🚗 Revised High Street parking restrictions are expected to come into operation from 24 August, with the Town Council continuing to seek clarification on weekend enforcement.
• 📹 New CCTV cameras are being installed to further enhance safety in Wickford town centre.
• 🏛️ The Council continues to review planning applications carefully, objecting where proposals would adversely affect the Green Belt or the character of Wickford.
🌳 Environment & Community Updates
• 🌳 Progress continues on the installation of new Welcome to Wickford boundary signs.
• 🌱 The Council continues to invest in environmental improvements, including further tree planting and enhancements to public spaces.
• 🥕 Improvements continue at Market Road Allotments, including maintenance works, security enhancements and replacement fencing.
- 🎨 The project to provide a Youth Worker in Wickford, in partnership with Bar ‘n’ Bus, continues to progress, with the Partnership Agreement now approved.
🤝 Community Safety
The Town Council has agreed to continue supporting the Community Safety Officer service, recognising the valuable contribution it makes in providing reassurance and support to residents, visitors and businesses across Wickford.
