The High Street Market on Saturday 23 May brought another busy and vibrant day to Wickford town centre, with great support for local businesses and traders.

🀝 Meet & Greet Your Town Councillors
It was great to see so many residents at the Meet & Greet Your Town Councillors event on Saturday 23 May, giving people the opportunity to speak with Councillors and share local views and ideas.

πŸ”΅Β  Blue Plaques Unveiled
Two new Blue Plaques were officially unveiled on 9 May. Thank you to everyone who attended and helped celebrate Wickford’s local history and heritage.

πŸ›οΈ Annual Town Meeting
The Annual Town Meeting held on Thursday 30 April was well attended and it was great engaging with residents, sharing updates and hearing your views, draft minutes will be available on the website: www.wickfordtowncouncil.gov.uk

πŸ›οΈ Annual Council Meeting
Following the Annual Council Meeting, Councillor Andrew Neil was elected as Chair of the Town Council and Councillor Graham Bradley was elected as Vice Chair of the Town Council.

We also welcome new Councillors Hemant Patel, Mike Townsend, Chris Hobart, David Spicer and Alex Longfoot to Wickford Town Council.

β€’ Continued progress on the Neighbourhood Plan, with consultation work ongoing
β€’ Additional CCTV locations identified following a town centre review by Basildon Borough Council
β€’ Planning applications reviewed, with objections raised where proposals conflict with Green Belt policy or local impact concerns

🚦 Community Speedwatch – Volunteers Needed
We are looking for volunteers to support Community Speedwatch and help improve road safety across Wickford.

🌳 Environment & Community Updates
Work continues across Wickford on environmental improvements, planting schemes and community projects to enhance the town.
